Biography

Comprising Joakin Eskasan and Sri Keshava, the project was founded by TexMex-Aussie Joakin in Boston in the mid-2000s during his college years at Berklee College of Music. His mission was to keep people dancing while also promoting “PLUR” (peace, love, unity, and respect) through culturally rich EDM. During these early years, Joakin was a resident percussionist at RISE Afterhours and Underbar, where he played with incredible artists like Chus & Ceballos, Craig Mitchell, DJ Boris, Mark Knight, and Soul Clap.

In 2012, Aussie-American Sri Keshava joined GPP with a background steeped in classical Indian music and dance, breakbeat, electronic rock, techno, trance, and punk rock. Her previous projects include serving as co-director of Taal Dance, a modern progressive classical Indian Dance company, with performances at Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles alongside South Asian artists Cheb i Sabbah, Karsh Kale, and Midival Punditz. Prior to this, Sri was the rhythm guitarist in the hardcore punk band Shelter, and the lead singer and guitarist of razor-pop punk band Baby Gopal. All these musical influences make GPP’s original music and hybrid sets a true multicultural experience.

Global Party People has now toured at renowned festivals in Australasia, Europe, and America, including St Kilda Festival in Melbourne, Esoteric Festival in Donald, Ratha Yatra Festivals in Barcelona and Los Angeles, Bhakti Fest in Joshua Tree, Jai Thep Festival in Chiang Mai, and Festival of Colours in Auckland. Now, Joakin and Sri are bringing that global energy straight to you, ready to ignite the dance floor and elevate the collective spirit.
